A new Cherokee generation requires a new Cherokee powertrain. All 2026 Cherokee models will have a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine under the hood. It will make a combined 210 horsepower and 230 horsepower. Early Jeep estimates state the new Cherokee SUV can tow up to 1,587 kg (3,500 lbs.).
Fuel Economy
Jeep engineers have done an excellent job of splitting the difference between output and fuel economy. According to the latest available information, the 2026 Cherokee can post 5.6 L/100 km in the city and 7.1 L/100 km on the highway.

The 2026 Cherokee leans into interior refinement while keeping its upholstery choices sustainable. The cloth seats are made from recycled materials. Leatherette trim is also available. Additionally, the driver’s seat is very adjustable and heated as standard.
